Payment networks, Card Brands and Issuers, as well as acquiring banks and payment processors, regularly change interchange rates, qualification rules, and pass-through fees, which may cause fluctuations in the effective rate. When this occurs, this page is automatically updated to reflect the revised values (i.e., payment processing fees, payout fees, etc.).These fees are out of the platform's control.
Updates and your responsibility. The platform may adjust payment processing fees at its own discretion without prior notice. By using the Service, you agree to review this page periodically for current fees and to refer to the Terms of Service for additional details.

Platform Service fee — 10% for regular content providers.
Payment Processing fees (aka "Transaction costs", per sale/charge) — factors and the illustrative range are in transaction Costs & Fee Variability for Stars. Payment processing fees occur at transaction time and reduce the gross before it reaches your balance. Applies only if you choose to cover the payment processing fees by yourself (otherwise, the fees are passed onto subscribers).
Payout fees. Depend on the withdrawal method/provider, currency and the country of the withdrawal — see Terms of Service.
Associated pass-through costs (if applicable) — any extra costs associated with the transaction (e.g. age verification, extra resource usage, etc.), anything outlined in the Terms of Service.
API Usage fee. For creator-operated clients working with SubscribeStar via API, additional fee of 5% may be applied based on the usage. All other fees follow the same adjustments as for regular providers — see Transaction Costs & Fee Variability for Stars
Rolling Reserve. Clients must retain a reserve of 10% of their earnings on the Platform. A reserve also applies to content creators whose refund rate is higher than 3% and chargeback rate is higher than 0.1% of all transactions. The Platform typically applies reserve considering transactions volume. In other words, even if you crossed the thresholds mentioned above, we may or may not apply the reserve. The reserve is reimbursed after account termination within 90 days.

The final fees on the platform are set individually for each Star. The primary driver is your chosen transaction-fee model, which determines who covers the most of the payment processing costs as outlined in the table below:

VAT/GST/QST, sales taxes etc. The platform helps content creators collect and remit applicable indirect taxes. Where the platform does not do so, content creators remain responsible for collecting and/or remitting those taxes as required.	—

¹The platform may apply different fee structure depending on the content provider type. For example, clients with heavy API usage may incur extra 3-5% fee. For most of the content creators the fees are as simple as described above. See more details in Terms of Service.

²For all current subscriptions the platform does its best to freeze the payment processing fees actual at the moment of subscription. If the transaction fee changes to a significantly higher amount, the platform may need to change the fees respectively. In other words, if you see an increased or decreased transaction fee in the Terms of Service, it doesn't mean that it applies to all subscriptions. Typically and approximately, it applies only to new subscriptions.

³Even if content provider selected to pass the payment processing fees onto subscriber, the platform may change this setting for any or all subscriptions without prior notice. Wherever applies per initially/previously set pricing model, irrespective of the current setting, the subscriber may cover the payment processing fees (irrespective of the current content provider's settings). If transaction fee changes, only content provider is obligated to cover the difference. Typically, this difference is minor.

Pricing for Subscribers

Billing: You are charged the Subscription Fee (i.e. Subscription Price) shown on the Star's page, on the schedule set by the Star.

Taxes: Where applicable, we calculate, collect, and remit indirect taxes and other tax-related charges, including VAT, GST, QST, sales and use taxes, digital services taxes, and similar levies.

Depending on the applicable jurisdiction, transaction, pricing model, payment method, currency, or other relevant circumstances, applicable taxes may either be included in the displayed or charged price or added to the transaction amount. The applicable tax treatment and, where required, the tax amount will be shown or otherwise disclosed at checkout.

Tax treatment and rates are determined based on applicable law and information such as your billing or location details and other relevant signals, including IP-derived location or payment-instrument information where permitted. Rates and tax treatment may change as applicable laws, rates, or our tax treatment of transactions change.

If required information is missing or inaccurate, we may determine and collect applicable tax at checkout or, where permitted by law, subsequently adjust amounts or restrict access. Users are responsible for providing and maintaining accurate billing and location information.

The Subscriber is responsible for providing accurate information relevant to the determination of applicable taxes. If incorrect, incomplete, or misleading information results in an incorrect VAT or other indirect tax being charged, including because of the use of a VPN, proxy, prepaid or virtual payment card, foreign-issued card, or similar circumstances, the Platform is not responsible for any resulting overcharge, undercharge, or incorrect tax treatment.

If the Platform later determines that a transaction or Subscription is subject to VAT or another indirect tax, it may adjust the amount charged, including for recurring payments, or apply the applicable tax on a tax-inclusive basis when calculating amounts payable to the Star.

Applicable tax rates and tax treatment may change as a result of changes in law, tax rates, the Subscriber’s jurisdiction, or information available to the Platform. Any resulting change in the amount charged does not constitute an unauthorized or incorrect charge solely because the amount differs from previous payments.

A Subscriber must not complete a transaction if the tax amount, tax jurisdiction, or other tax treatment displayed appears to be incorrect. By completing the transaction, the Subscriber confirms that the displayed tax treatment is accepted based on the information available at the time of the transaction.

International transactions: If your payment method is issued outside the United States, an additional 3.5% International Transaction Fee may apply to each respective transaction.

Payment method type: Some transactions may carry higher network or issuer costs. When applicable, an additional pass-through fee may be added and shown before you pay.

Bank/FX fees: Your bank may add foreign transaction and currency-conversion fees; these are separate and set by your bank.

Payment Processing fees: Content creators may choose to have subscribers cover payment processing fees for certain transactions (see Pricing for Stars above). If this option is enabled, and such surcharges are permitted by law and the relevant payment processors, we may add these transaction fees to your total. All applicable surcharges will be clearly shown at checkout and will remain unchanged for any recurring payments related to your subscription.
